I stayed up late for last night's low glucose scare and still got up early, so I'm pretty exhausted today. That sudden 40 was scary to see and I'm relieved the syrup and carbs stopped the drop. He is of course very high again this morning, so I don't know if it's a bounce or if I overdid it with the carbs. I hope I can get him to a safe, healthy curve soon. This has been a frustrating adventure these last few months.

Anyway, Simon and I want to thank everyone for the support yesterday, it really means a lot

Oh, my! That was quite the night!! Well done on catching the dive and getting Simon into safer numbers.
I'm pretty sure that's a bounce today that it looks like he might be breaking.
When you see those drops > 20% of the preshot at +2, you're likely in for an active cycle. He did that on 8/10 as well, and on some other cycles too. When this happens, I try to go ahead and give Jude some (depending on the numbers) MC/HC (like a tsp or two) to slow the drop. Those rapid drops can lead to bouncing.
It will be interesting to see if he continues to drop at PMPS. If so, he's in a bounce breaking cycle. Keep an eye on him if that's the case because bounce breaking cycles + insulin can carry more momentum and create active cycles.

It was indeed a stressful evening. I'm glad he went up a little for PMPS tonight, and it doesn't seem like a huge drop at +2. I'll get another test in before bed. It's been a long 24 hours!

That's a good idea to use the MC/HC foods to slow the >20% bounce breaks. I usually give Simon another small portion of LC food after the +2/+3 test, which is what I did at +2 last night. If I had given him some MC food instead maybe he wouldn't have dropped to that 40 at +3. Maybe he's just a cat that comes out of these bounces hard, so I think I'll go ahead and incorporate MC foods more often for him if it looks like an active cycle coming up
