My apartment is going to be under window construction today or Thursday, there will be a lot of inside drilling, I live in a 1-bedroom large apt. My babies will be in the bathroom in the meantime, however the bathroom is between the living room and bedroom, smack in the middle of the openings, they will freak out by the noise and strangers in the house will it be dangerous placing cotton in their ears just to keep that thin drilling sound??

Hi Maria :)
I suspect they’ll like the cotton in their ears even less than the noise! Give them a comfy spot to hide inside and maybe a white noise machine?

Thanks you’re most likely right, I’ll just leave them with a small speaker in he bathroom with regeton music!! :bighug::cat::cat:

I would lock the bathroom door, too (assuming you have a way to get back into it from outside the bathroom). People coming and going can sometimes open doors unwittingly and you don’t want to risk the kitties getting out.

An enclosed cat bed (like a cat cube) or a couple of boxes with holes cut in them so the cats can hide might help too.

I agree about not putting cotton in their ears. I think that would likely stress them even more and wouldn’t help much.

Put a big sign on the door--CATS INSIDE--DO NOT OPEN.
And then if there is a way to lock and unlock the door from the outside, lock it as well.
Just give them food, water, litterbox, a bed or box for each that they can hide in, with some of their regular bedding or a shirt or something you've worn so it has your scent on it inside the boxes so they have a comforting smell.
They will likely be nervous or upset. But they will get over it in a day or so.
