Ozzie is on prozinc u40 at doses of 5.0 plus. At the u100 conversion 12.5. The cat weighs 11 lbs. I have not done a curve in a while but the insulin is low now. I want a stonger medicine. The componded pzi worked well but fluctuated. Should i go back to that. Seems it expired before it was used up and the prozinc last longer but used upfirst.
Any opinions? Happy Easter.

One insulin is not really "stronger" than another one. However, some cats can do better on one insulin over another. Without any BG numbers I can't recommend changing insulin. Some acts just requires a higher dose

Can you run a curve and share the numbers?
The issue with compounded pzi seems to be availability and finding a supplier that can produce a consistent product from one batch to the next.
Not sure if one of the "L" insulins would work better without some data, but it is an option to consider. Is your vet good with switching, and does he/she have experience with those insulins?
