Hi all,
I administer Vetsulin to my cat and when I was giving her the dosage this morning, some of the insulin somehow ran off the needle and ended up on the top of the Vetsulin bottle, in that little rubber circle where you go to inject the needle. Mindlessly, I went ahead and just wiped it off with a paper towel.
It only just hit me hours later that maybe I should have wiped it with an alcohol wipe. What should I do here? I called my vet and they told me it was fine, just not to make that a regular habit so I feel at ease but in the event that this happens again, what would be the best way to get rid of the excess insulin on the top of the vial? Has anyone else ran into this situation before?
I have some alcohol swabs but I don't know whether I should wipe the top of the vial because I've read on other forums about the possibilities of the alcohol potentially contaminating the insulin? Am I overthinking too much? Sorry if this is a silly question, just want to be on the safe side. Thank you all in advance for any answers/advice!!!
