Just tested lizzie. It was 251. Should I shoot. I fed her. Should I test again in six hrs or 12.

Just posted on your other thread... not very conclusive I'm afraid but I do think 3.5u is a high starting dose so I'd advise against shooting that much. Other members will be better placed to give you dosing advice. They may say shoot 1u and test again in an hour or two hours to see how that is working - without data, we just don't know and this is exactly why it's so vital to home test. If you miss this dose, it's not the end of the world - it's better to be highish for a short time than drop far too low and have to handle that.

I will tag a couple of UK members with knowledge of your insulin who may be up and about soon.

You posted on your other thread you are on Prozinc? Correct? If so then 3.5 units is a huge starting dose and you have no data so far. 1 unit is a more reasonable starting dose and within the manufacturer's recommendations. I think you may need a reset back to 1 unit and to work up from there. Without previous data I would be wary of giving specific advice. Can you set up a signature and spreadsheet as you are going to need some experienced eyes on this to help determine the most appropriate dose for your kitty as time goes on. Well done on starting home testing, if you need any help with the techie stuff just ask.

1 unit is my suggestion as well. I just think you need to start it as if she's new to it all. I would do one then test every few hours when you can. Write down the numbers you get and start the spreadsheet. Making a signature would help too. Click on your name at the top and go to signature. Put the insulin type, the cats weight, type of meter you are using, what you are feeding, and any other info you want to share.
