Back in August I realized Raja needed to be on insulin again after taking a 3yr hiatus. This was also a few days after she almost died on me and was rushed to the er vet.
Now at the ER vet they did a complete blood panel and saw her blood sugar was high as well as the values for her pancreas and liver were also elevated an her WBC. Everything else was fine.
They gave us antibiotics and sent us on our way.
We went back to the regular vet who 2 weeks later retested and said her pancreas and liver were fine.
When I called her and asked for the insulin she wrote me a script and then said she wanted me to bring Raja in periodically to test her blood. I told her I tested at home and Raja handled that well and then she said she wanted me to bring her back a few weeks later to do a fructosomine test instead.
Now my father happens to be on the same insulin and he gives me a half used pen when I need one so technically I don't need to see her for insulin.
Raja is eating great, gaining weight back and actually more active than she has been in a while so do I take her in for a check up like the vet wanted and say no to the fructosemine test or just not go at all?
