Should I be worrying about how much he eats?

When I stole Kirby from my parents to take him to the vet he weighed 9.5 pounds and you could see all of his bones. He has definitely gained weight in the 11 days he's been with me but I'm worried about when he'll start getting too big and whether his weight gain is going too fast. He always seems hungry. My 3 cats don't always eat all of their food and kind of graze during the day but Kirby will eat the rest of theirs if they haven't eaten it within a few hours.

I don't want to restrict him if it's not good for him. I've started feeding all of my cats less food but more often since I'm working from home and can actually do it but it still seems to be an issue with Kirby.

His next vet appointment is Monday so I will discuss it with her but I was hoping to get some experienced opinions about it from you guys.

Is Kirby the diabetic cat? A lot of diabetic cats lose weight at the beginning of their diabetic journey. They are also very hungry because their bodies can't utilise the nutrients in the food when they are not regulated. They won't be as hungry once their numbers are more normal.
Feeding cats multiple times during the day is a good idea.
As long as he's not fat I think it is fine for him to eat extra?

Are you going to set up a spreadsheet? We can help you if you do.
