We have been increasing Sabrina's dose since her recent pancreatitis flare. She has mostly been in mid 300s. But tonight her PMPS is 130. I am a bit unsure to give her 3.5u. She just had a small meal (she's a grazer) and I will wait until +0.5 to see her number again.

Please let me know if I should still give her 3.5u. I can for sure test her and watch her overnight. TYIA

The +0.5 will be food influenced. I see you are following custom dosing.
If you shoot, will you be able to get some tests tonight? Do you have enough supplies? Higher carb food, test strips, honey?

I see that you don't have tests many nights. A before bed test every night really helps to know if they are goinglow at night and bouncing in the day.
Btw, you are using the SS format for a human meter. You are using the AlphaTrak2, right?

She has been high overnight lately based on her urination frequency and appetite...
They get very hungry when dropping low also. Without tests in both cycles, you are getting only half the picture.

Yes, I am using alphatrak 2
Most of us use human meters because the strips are much cheaper. They work just as well on cats as pet meters :)

Is she getting pain meds for her pancreatitis flares? Pain can cause numbers to be higher.

Yes! Thank you for the reminder! She actually had hypo overnight before (due to subq fluid injection spot being too close to insulin injection spot) and one of the symptoms is her appetite being ravenous. The interesting thing is, when she's hypo, she doesn't pick food. She would eat whatever I offer to her. But when her bg is high, she would still eat but be fussy... Lately she wakes me up 3-4 times every night for food topper...

Yes! I do have a human meter but haven't tried it yet. I was told that pet meter requires less blood that's why we have been using it.

She is not on Bupe at this point. But we have bupe on hand and we watch her closely for signs of pain. She was diagnosed with severe pancreatitis in May 2021 and her pancreas was markedly enlarged. We managed to keep it stable until January 2022. Unfortunately, her pancreas has grown bigger. We were told that it is highly likely a slow growing cancer but we don't know for sure. Right now, we are focusing on making her happy and comfortable. In the meanwhile, we are trying to keep her BG under control so she doesn't feel hungry and thirsty. :cat:
