Pepe has been doing better since he started on Lantus so I think I am doing something right but I sometimes wonder if I am injecting him correctly or if I am missing. I have used the 20 syringes that came with the prescription and I went to use the first one in the new box of 100 and I noticed that the needle was shorter. I am even more unsure if I am injecting him properly--ARE THE SHORTER (5/16) NEEDLES OK ??

I am thankful for this website and have been reading a lot-I hope to start home testing soon.

I use the shorter needles.
I've shot through and out the other side of the tented skin with long needles, and sliced myself too. (I am not as dextrous as some may be!)

I preferred the short needles to the long ones - if you compare them side by side you can see that not only is it shorter, it's also thinner - so I don't think they feel it as much as the long needles.

I've used both. I don't really have a preference but the U100s I've bought have a shorter needle compared to the U40s. My husband initially didn't like them as well because he didn't feel as certain that they were going in. Now he seems OK with them.
