Shorshe had her surgery last Friday, March 28. Her BG has been low-ish. However, probably because of the antibiotic, her appetite is almost nonexistent. I am concerned about the last few cycles, where she seems to have a nadir later than her usual +4, sometimes as late at PMPS. Additionally, in some cycles, despite the insulin, there is no reduction at all in BG numbers in the first few hours. And today, she started reducing from +2 (or even +1).
I am thinking of reducing her dosage till she starts eating normally again. It's difficult for me to constantly syringe feed her every 15 minutes as she strenuously objects to it. It typically takes her a while to come up in numbers even when I am syringing medium carb/high carb food.
Also, before surgery and also yesterday in the evening, whenever she was eager to eat, she ate too quickly and then regurgitated. And after this she refuses to touch food. Any advice?
I have tried mirtaz for a couple of days at low dose (usually she responds to even 1/16th of 15 mg but now 1/8th is not really working) and today cypropetadine (1/6th of 4 mg tab) and it still didn't make her eat. Also her antibiotic has given her diarrhea that I am trying to control (so far not very successfully) with propbiotics (s. boulardii and fortiflora)
Currently she is on
1. Ondansetron 2 mg twice daily (today I gave her a cerenia shot because she vomitted)
2. She was prescribed phenobarbital for myoclonic seizure-like twitches (videos linked in her spreadsheet) and I think this caused the vomiting
3. Amoxiclav 125 mg twice daily
4. Until yesterday low dose of meloxicam once daily (0.16 mg)
