Shorshe was started on her ear drops (posatex) on the 10th. On the 12 th we also took off her libre sensor with brava and washed the area with shampoo and water. She seemed very discomfited for a few hours after taking off the sensor trying to aggressively lick: i figured it was because of use of vet glue which made some skin come off despite our best efforts and she was likely itchy.
anyway, she’s been very reluctant to eat since 12th evening. She seems hungry but won’t eat any of the food offered that she was happily eating by herself except small quantities of tuna based food.
i am giving her fluids and syringe feeding her. I also stopped the ear drops since yesterday and repeated liver and kidney values which seem fine. (Liver values are now within 2-3 times of normal range) with Alt: 295 and AST: 144 (haven’t updated the sheets yet, but will do within a fee hours).
Is it okay to give her gabapentin for pain and cyproheptadin for appaetite? She has previously recieved practin for appetite intermittently because she sometimes goes off low glucose food, but not since mid July.
Also her teeth have had issues for many years but vets I spoke to in my city have no experience with extraction only cleaning. Anything i can do to make her oral health better without affecting liver /diabetes?
also is there another forum where I could ask someone about hepatic health? I am going back to bangkok on 19th and will carry her centrifuged plasma for tests on acromegaly, fpl and serum bile acids which are not available in my city in India. Anything else i should check for?
