Hi :)
I was shopping around looking for a good cheep low price on the Levemir Pens and was hoping someone may already have found a good price somewhere?!

My girls insulin has been expired for some time now and I finally got some $$$ so I want to get some insulin "Pens" asap!
Thank you.

Thank you!! I was able to find a cheaper place than what I was finding last night. :)

Though I dont understand if I need to keep Levemir refrigerated or not to make it last longer. (??) I have reread it many times in hope I will understand better the next day, but.. Does anyone know?

If you order the flex pens and keep them refrigerated that will last longest. Often, if you can find someone to share the set of 5 pens with, that is a good way to go, depending on your dosage. I use a pen to the last drop and it last about 8 months on Jeddie's small dose. So a set of 5 pens can last 3-4 years, which probably takes them beyond their expiration date.

The levemir info sheet says to not refrigerate after opening, but that is for human use when a pen is expected to be used up in a month or less - and the larger, human doses would be too cold (uncomfortable) to shoot. For kitties, the fridge is the best way to store it and get it to last - just put it away from the top shelf, or wherever the cold air comes in, so it doesn't freeze and not in the door where the pen would get jarred every time you open the fridge. I keep mine on the second shelve below the cheese/meat drawer so it is out of drafts.

Awe beautiful Thank you! I understand how it works now! :) Great tips for were to keep in the fridge too. I would of kept it on the top shelf. I share a fridge and the top 2 are my shelves. lol I will be more mindful with it this time. :) Ty!

I came to go make a post to see if anyone has any spare insulin I could buy. Both of the vets I see wont prescribe me Levemir. :? well Im only seeing just 1 vet, my new one. But I tried asking my old vet that I got the last batch of Lantus with.

My old Vet won't prescribe me a "different" kind of insulin without seeing her first. So thats $60 of the money I saved for insulin. And My new vet which so far is waaaaaaaay better than my old one wants to stay on Lantus cause he's never heard of Levemir. (Im sure there are other reasons but I only got to talk to the receptionist and by the end of the 5th call they Were Not very happy talking to me so I just said "ok Thank you, when I find I cheep price of Lantus I'll call and let you know" (with smiles in my voice as I do NOT want to rock the boat with my 5th Vet!! This town aint that big and my options are running thin.)

Anyways she has been without insulin for... Im not sure, I guess from what I found out from you all, that it stopped working in January, so 2 months now.

I'm in suppressed panic mode, as Im used to this. I went all most of last year with her having high numbers. (for various reasons) But the anxiety gets really bad when I think about it too long.

Ok going to go make a new post. :) I'll probably copy and paste most if not alll of this. XD
