This might be a stupid question but, I shot him on the side between his leg and his ribs tonight. He hissed. He never hisses. I must have hurt him. His BG did not turn green today all day. No insulin effect at all. Is it normal? Do you think the shot was done correctly? I did not fur shot him for sure. But I am wondering nevertheless... He IS steady, it's a good thing I know. The insulin is working I guess.
I was getting so excited to see the greens. And today... no green. Is it normal?
Tomorrow I will shoot him at the scuff.
Tomorrow morning Cycle 7 Baby boy.
Fingers crossed.
Good night :)

No questions are stupid! :-) Some people have found that the shot location makes a difference, while others have not. Similarly, some cats have been sensitive in some parts for e.g. some cats would let their caregivers shoot only in the scruff etc. Another ECID thing!

It's hard to say from today's numbers since he is within the range he usually is in. It's possible he is doing a "mini-bounce" from 2 days of greens and that it has nothing to do with shot location.

Thank you very much :)

that was my first thought too but I also agree that he's within his "usual" range and is looking great! Don't focus on remission. Focus on regulation (which you have been doing great lately! Compare where he was when you started!). We always go for regulation first because that stops any further damage on the internal organs (especially the kidneys). If we get remission, that's icing on the cake!

Yes, he's been great lately, I am not complaining, not at all. Blues are not so bad, yes, we came a long way in such a short time. Very grateful for that.
One day at a time.
Hang in there my sweet boy (I wish there was a heart emoji.)

It really doesn't matter on the body where you do the subQ injection as long as it's done properly. I inject on Leroy's left side around the shoulder blade. There's more loose skin there than on his scruff.

There is a heart emoji :)

❤️

You just have to copy the heart from a post and paste into your post. If you're using a smartphone to access FDMB, you can insert a solid red heart into the post using your phone's emoji options.
