Hello, everyone! I know it has been a long, long, LONG time...
I come bearing the incredible news that The Queen is off the juice!!! Her last dose was on June 21! And she's looking better than ever -- I am including a photo here that shows a comparison between August 2015 when I first brought her home, and now.
I just want to thank all of you so much for this forum, which was such an invaluable resource to me when I decided to take on a diabetic foster cat without really knowing what I was getting into. The Queen, of course, is much more than a foster cat now -- she's a forever part of our family, and I couldn't imagine life without her.
Oh, and by the way -- I'm doing it again. I am about to bring home another diabetic cat from the shelter, who was about to be euthanized. This time, I will be searching for a forever home for her while treating her. So stay tuned for an introduction to Baby Girl (unfortunate name, I know)!
