We had a great day yesterday, with her surfing blues and greens after an initially high reading (due to no PM shot). I kept up with 0.9U despite her being in upper blues though I chickened out a little last night since I would not be up to test. She got dry food anyway, so I probably needn't worry but didn't want to take a chance. Hope this continues! She got a "fat" 0.8U this AM because I also would not be around to test due to work. Hoping for a continued good day! Her numbers are definitely reflecting her being better, so hopefully this pancreatitis attack is calming its way down. I tried not giving bupe last night and she seemed to be fine this AM, though she's still getting fluids and antibiotics. I haven't cut back her flagyl yet, but likely will after my vet returns (that can have neurological side effects at higher doses, so don't want to take a chance). She's still pooping outside the litterbox, though this morning she didn't leave a present for me so hopefully that means those symptoms are calming down (which would make me feel better about cutting her flagyl dose too). Her IBD usually flares when she gets a pancreatitis attack and her poo is still softer than it should be. What a day of greens PZI kitties had yesterday!

8/7 PMPS = 163, gave 0.8U "fat" (fed dry food as would not eat canned; test done at +9 due to too low a blue at +8)
+7 = 164 (got into her brother's dry food after this test...)

8/8 AMPS = 192, gave 0.8U "fat" (ate her usual blended canned)
+10 = 175
(no mid-day shot - stuck at work & not sure how to fit two in time left)
PMPS = 264, gave 1U (shot given at +12, gave more insulin due to getting less in total during day)
+2.5 = 81
+3.5 = 70
+4.5 = 90

So happy for you both!
She is having awesome numbers!!
Keep up the good work!

What a beautiful set of cycles yesterday! I hope it continues for you guys :-D

Me too! I'm not sure she'll ever be "regulated" just because her health condition is so tenuous, but if I can keep her in this range most of the time it would go a long way to healing that poor little inflamed pancreas of hers. I'm trying to be a bit more aggressive on dosing but also trying to be careful simply because she can be so variable! I never really know when her pancreas (or liver or GI tract) will get cranky or she'll get another infection, so consistency is a challenge.

If I can keep her out of the dry food, that would help too! ohmygod_smile

I know what you mean about keeping them out of things. I cat proof my house, and Oscar always finds one small thing I have over looked, or one crumb of dog food the dogs kicked out of their bowls when eating. I wish you could just tell them sometimes what kind of set back that does for their numbers to convince them to not go for it!

Well, today sort of shot things a little. She's fine, but I got stuck at work and got home too late to do her mid-day shot. I decided to try to wait until +12 and give her the shot then since waiting until PMPS would not work at all. She was up to 264 by then. I gave a higher dose than usual since she's not had insulin for a while. She dropped a little quickly though so there may be a little bounce, but hopefully not. Will get her back on schedule tomorrow with TID. Despite that she still gave me some blues and greens!
