Good Afternoon. Last Condo 10/31
Shadow is still enjoying the falls... so far I would say the Adequan really makes a difference for her. She's just a creaky middle aged girl. I think she would
play more if we didn't have droolers. They come observe her when she starts playing. They would so like to join... sorta.
But they know she'll attack if they bother her too much.
She is just the one to be in awe of.... after all, she gets treats when they don't. ( nevermind that they get theirs in the morning)
She gets to sit up in a chair at the dinner table if she so chooses and is actually offered a bite of cheese rather than having to wait until it drops on the floor.
They are so fascinated by her "specialness" and of course, jealous too.
My family and my dd's fiancé's family spent the last week with some cold viral bug.... my dd had it the worst. My DH and DS had a bout too but we thought
theirs might be a touch of food poisoning. ( hard to say which)
And I somehow managed not to get it. ( that's never happened before since my immune system isn't the best)
Things are about to be good and bad .
My DM is back in the hospital in College Station, Tx with more hypoxia issues and she doesn't have a DNR so they might start putting her on life support.
She currently is sedated because she won't leave the cpap on. She hates that. She has aphasia ... and can't communicate well at all.
My DGM is the one who was taking care of her but doesn't recognize when she's getting worse. A visiting nurse called the ambulance.
According to the nurse in the ccu for my DM, the dr says she can not go home this time since she didn't take care of herself these past couple of weeks.
(supposed to use her nebulizer 4x a day and barely did once a day)
So.... this may be it.
She's stable for now but the chatter is that they are setting her up ( as I requested 2 weeks ago) to get transported out to me and go in our rehab facility
and then slide into the nursing home. We have a great place in our own little town.
My DGM will live with us. She doesn't need much help.
The ugliest part is they have two Pomeranians (not housebroken) that I am currently chatting with a pom rescue down there to take the dogs.
That's so difficult for them of course.
I would be beside myself if I were in that situation and being told I had to give up Shadow.
I have to be patient and sweet about their dogs as best I can. I have good days and bad days with that.
I'm looking forward to having my DGM. Apprehensive about how this will play out for my DM.
And the rest is all just hassle. The physical moving is the least of the worry.
So things could be good in the long run but it has to play out.
I am so Thankful that Shadow is doing good right now.
Happy Thanksgiving , my friends.
