Shaak still great!

Shaak is still doing great, she was a bad girl today, my son went to the bathroom and left his plate on the coffee table and something possessed Shaak and she grabbed the slice of pizza off of his plate and carried it to her spot. Luckily he came in and noticed it and I checked her blood sugar 90 minutes later and it was 58 so no worse for wear but I explained to him we have to be diligent especially with her so much more spry now, she can hop up pretty much anywhere, still not attempting the kitchen counters so far thank goodness, or the kitchen table and the coffee table is actually lower than the bed so normally it is not a place she goes, don't know what got a hold of her today.

We are heading to California on early Sunday morning until Thursday, I have my son's friend and his mom coming to cat sit, I have given them instructions on the only food Shaak can have is her FF chicken feast and twice a day she can have two pieces of pure bites chicken or shrimp. That is all, nothing else, nada!! Also, could they please play with her as much as she is willing to play. This is taking a huge leap of faith on my part, I am leaving Marje's phone number with them in case of emergency. Prayerfully all will be calm.
 
Glad to hear Shaak is doing so well. I think Shaak was just demonstrating how well she is doing!!:cat: My little kibble addict stole some peanut butter sandwich one day. For the life of me, I could not figure out what possessed her as she normally thinks anything that doesn't crunch is not edible! Our kitties are full of surprises and that's why we love them so much!

Have a wonderful trip and RELAX! Shaak will be just fine and with Marje there as a extra backup (which you won't need!), you have absolutely no need to worry at all!
 
I was so pleased, Kristie who is ose without sleep she is a menace, LOL! I have not seen my best friend Madeline in two years so I am so excited to be seeing her, not to mention that she has come to Arizona for the first time ever!! So much to do, and to get to go to Cali with her and her son is beyond happiness for me and the kids.
ne of the people watching Shaak this week was sitting with Shaak earlier today and Shaak let her love on her for a long time, rubbing her ears and everything!! I think they will be great cat sitters! Shakk is sleeping right beside my legs right now. She knows something is up because of all the bags and suitcases by the door, she does not seem upset though. We have always been people that take a lot of trips though, so she is used to it. This is the first time since her diagnosis we have left town though. Who would have believed she would be OTJ and I would be able to actually get away. I thank God everyday for the blessings and miracles He has given us and continues to give us.

We leave in two hours for our trip. I have not been to bed and can't sleep, wish I could, just too excited, every time I lay down to sleep I think of something else I need to do and back up I am. My son hasn't slept either, I hope we don't fall asleep in the ocean this evening (Sunday evening). We simply must get good sleep tonight (Sunday night) so we will be able to hit Disneyland bright and bushy tailed on Monday morning (Kirby doesn't know we are going to Disneyland, she thinks we are just going to San Diego Zoo, can't wait till we get to hotel and surprise her, right now she is sleeping, so that is really good, she won't be irritable for the day and she can sleep more along the way.


Everyone take care and I will be back online Thursday or Friday. I am taking laptop with me but I am assuming we will only use it for watching movies on the road, figure we will be to busy once we are in LA and San Diego.
 
Since this is a short thread I thought I would skip posting a new thread and just say Shaak did great while we were away on vacation, we only went for four days. We still are supposed to go to Arkansas for a couple of weeks in July/August, I feel good that Shaak will be fine while I am gone though. Shaak's most recent BG is 57, so she is doing wonderfully well!
