Setting up shot the night before?

Would it still be viable by morning?

Aspen has been on one shot a day for appx 6 weeks 1.5 units (glargine) and his counts came down vastly from the low 400's to 100 at his vet visit a week ago. Unfortunately, Saturday night about an hour before his shot was due he had an episode, which I mistook for hypoglycemia, but in speaking with the vet today he feels it's just the opposite, HYPERglycemia. The vet thinks it's time to attempt the second shot per day.

So to get to my question, is it alright if I prepare the morning needle with the evening one and just store it in the fridge until shot time in the AM? If I'm to start a second shot per day I'll only have a small window of opportunity to get him in the morning and it would be really helpful if I could get that step done the night before. Will the insulin 'settle' or separate by then?

Thank you in advance.

That is not recommended if you use Lantus and maybe Levemir because the lubricant in the syringe interacts with the insulin.

Dayum. Not what I wanted to hear. But thank you so much for taking the time to share the information.
