Setting Miss Ernie free

Miss Ernie, has been fighting CRD for just over a year now. Sadly, the disease has progressed very quickly with her despite my giving her the best care possible to fight the illness. She has reached the point where she will no longer allow me to give her her medications, or her subQ fluids. She vomits daily. She now hides from me and when I try to hold her, she empties her bladder on me. She no longer "talks" to us and she used to be VERY vocal - to the point of annoyance. It is time to set her free despite how much I want to be selfish and hold tightly to her. She would be 13 on 9/1 and is one of my bottle babies... I got her on the day of her birth. She earns her wings tomorrow at Noon. God help me...my soul is shattering. I have lost too many babies over the course of the year.

Thank you all for your kind words. Miss Ernie is now an angel.. she is now back with her beloved Georgie. She was never the same after his loss due to mammary cancer. He was her everything and she never, ever stopped looking for him once he was gone. Now she is at peace.
