Hey everybody, I'm so sorry I have been MIA for the past few months. I won't get into all the reasons why, but suffice it to say, I've been without internet off and on and dealing with personal stuff that has consumed my life the last few months. I have been kicked out of my home of 19 years and will be moving from Georgia to Kentucky this Saturday provided Biscuits is still with us by then.
I have NOT had time to update her spreadsheet for a long time. I will do that once I get settled in my new home, but just a quick backstory on what happened to her today.

Most of you may remember she had severe neuropathy in her back legs. She recovered beautifully, thanks to those of you who recommended Methylcobalamin supplements and she's done very well since taking it. Her sugar however has remained out of whack for a long time. I'm not sure if the neuropathy has caused some numbness in her feet that doesn't allow her to feel when they are dirty but she ended up getting clay litter stuck to her foot pads on both back feet and despite my numerous efforts to get it off and clean her up, she would not let me mess with her feet. It finally got to the point where her right foot became infected, so off to the vet we went yesterday to see if they could fix this. I've tried 4 times to get her to a groomer at the same vet and we kept getting scheduling conflicts so it wasn't for lack of trying to deal with this quicker.
Anyway, they did clean her feet, they gave her an antibiotic shot to combat infection in her foot pads and put an opiate cream on her feet to help with the pain. She was still favoring her right foot and wouldn't put any weight on it last night. She was fine other than pain though. Her glucose measured at 284 last night, which is low for her lately, but I gave her 2 units of Levemir and about 30 minutes later, decided to give her 1/2 a cc of gabapentin, which was really meant for my 30 cats that will also be traveling with me to KY on the weekend to help calm them during transport. She was on gabapentin in pill form for several months after she was diagnosed with diabetes, and she never had a bad reaction to it. The one I gave her last night was a liquid but only a small amount.
This morning one of my housemates woke me up at 6:30 am because she found Biscuits on the spare bedroom floor, unresponsive and barely breathing. I checked her sugar and she was reading at 28. We immediately starting pumping Karo syrup and water into her, tiny drops at a time and got it up to 81 in about 30 minutes, but then she went into a major seizure. My friend Angela came shortly after that and with the seizure in full swing, we rushed Biscuits to the vet. They worked on her over 90 minutes to stop the seizure. They finally did with a very strong medication and she was heavily sedated when they brought her to me so I could see her for a few minutes. I called the vet about 15 minutes ago and she said her sugar went from 127 down to 64 again and she has not had any insulin today nor anything else that would cause her sugar to drop like that. They did a blood panel and everything was normal except her pancreatic enzymes were a bit elevated but not really a big cause for concern. They were going to try to bring her sugar back up into the 100-120 range as a next step and as long as she doesn't go into another seizure, she may recover. My fear is that the prolonged seizure caused brain damage and I may lose my baby girl anyway. She was responding a bit to the vet tech by snatching her foot away when she tried to take her glucose level awhile ago but she was also kicking her feet, which is how the previous seizure started. It makes me nervous that it's going to happen again.
I am terrified for her, she's 12 years old and this has never happened before. She's always been a healthy cat despite her diabetes and doing just fine for the most part. I don't know what to think right now, I'm super stressed with having to move as it is, worrying about the rest of the cats that need to be captured and put in carriers, and now this happens. I am just hoping and praying she recovers and will be mentally okay as well. I can't imagine having such a bad seizure and it not doing any damage to her brain, but I'm also not familiar with seizures in cats. This is the first time I've seen that happen and I have over 30 cats.
Any advice or suggestions? Please pray for my sweet girl if you don't mind, that she recovers and is back to normal when she does. Thank you everyone.
I will be back on here as soon as I get settled in Kentucky and have time to breathe and decompress. I will elaborate more on what has happened to me at that time. Have a blessed day!

I can't imagine having such a bad seizure and it not doing any damage to her brain, but I'm also not familiar with seizures in cats.

It's quite possible there was some damage done, but a cat's brain contains about 250 million brain cells. It's actually possible to lose a good many of them and still not have what we think of as "brain damage".

If she's still responding to her name, acting normally regarding food, treats, litterbox habits, etc. then it's pretty reasonable to assume she didn't kill enough to worry about.
