Hi LL Family,
It has been a while since I last posted here on LL...know I read posts from time to time...but with Comet's growing needs I'm away from the pc when I'm home....I know there are lots of new kitties on the board but I'm sure the "old timers" remember us, me, Rocket.....

Today I'm struggling to keep the tears from flowing while I'm at work.....

I ought to celebrate Rocket and his life....and so I'm posting here today....if I may....

Please join me in celebrating what would have been Rocket's 20th BIRTHDAY TODAY!

It saddens me to think he is gone....but I'm sure he is having a grand party with all the GAs.....he has made lots of friends and is not alone!

How lovely that you remember and that you posted. There are certain days that you will never forget and this is certainly one of them. Wishing Rocket a Happy Birthday too!

Hi Claudia-
I'm sorry that you are experiencing such sadness today as you remember Rocket's birthday. You always have the love and support of us. May you find some comfort as we also remember your lovely Rocket. These 'first' anniversaries are usually the hardest. I can't believe it has almost been a year since he left you. But, as you said, he has made many new GA friends.

And love you did. It's my honor to have known him on this board. What a Handsome boy he was.

Rocket has the most soulfull eyes I have ever seen on a cat. I think he is an old soul, a wise one.
I'm sure he is looking down on you and feeling your love for him, right now.

Thank you everyone for stopping by.....much appreciated....

I have managed to be positive in spite of my heart aching so much....I miss him...but I know he is in a better place....free from pain....

I know he has visited me this morning.....

We got up at around 3:30 am....Comet wanted to be let out and so we did and rather than go back to bed I got up and prepped Comet's breakfast (he usually gets it at 4 am due to his medication)....we have the pc in the livingroom...and we have it on sleep mode...so the screen was black as always when not in use....I didn't think anything of it and gave Comet his food and meds...then went back to bed....

at around 5:15 am....my normal routine....I got up and started getting ready for work...and went into the kitchen to prep Comet's snack....and I noticed the pc was on.....now Darren was in bed still....so I know for a fact it was Rocket acknowledging that I have been talking to him all weekend and telling him how today was his first birthday without us being together....

our pc has his picture as the screen saver....so it was the first thing I saw when I went into the kitchen.....I told him how much I loved him and how much I missed him....then went back to get ready...as i'm getting ready to head out.....I looked back at the pc...and it was OFF......

so I ponder...was it his way to let me know he is still so much connected to me? that he knew it was his special day and that though we are not together in flesh that we are not apart?

that has gotten me thru the day...to know that he is so much in my heart....

How wonderful to have a visit from Rocket on his 20th birthday! That is a lovely story. I know that your boy is enjoying his birthday party tonight at the Bridge. He's with his friends and he wanted you to know that he is fine and that he loves you and misses you.
