We took Greylie to the vet today for his yearly check up. He is blind and we knew that last year already but I was a surprised wheen the vet said that they should probably take his bp. I thought that would be included in the Sr wellness test that cost 220.00 and included urin and bloodtest. The bp test cost and extra 31.00 which I don't mind what I am upset about it that the bp was not done last year and he could have had high bp already last year since his heart rate was very high then. The more I think about it the more upset I am... this is soooo important I think.

Does Greylie have kidney deficiency (CRF)? High blood pressure which can cause blindness is not uncommon in CRF kitties.
The Senior wellness test is a set of tests (blood and urine) that the vet sends out to an outside lab Some will do the urine in-hour though). Thus that is likely why it is not included.

yes he has kidney failure..... but I think..... when you go to the vet fro a complete check up... just like humans.. they should check the blood pressure.. now I am just waiting for the results and the vet said that there will be changes.. there is a new food out... I hope he will like it.

In case you weren't already aware of it, Tanya's Feline CRF site has tons of info on CRF, testing, what the tests mean, ways to cope, etc.
