Here are results from Orion's urine test. Is there anything to be concerned about?

The urine test is showing a fair level of glucose which is common with an unregulated kitty.

The PH is a little low which is also common when there is a higher urine output since it is more dilute.

The protein level is higher than I would like to see. Sometimes the test strips can give a false positive, but it might be worthwhile having some blood work done to test for kidney function. Here is some information on protein in the urine.

ETA Was there a particular reason you chose this product? It is good to have urine test strips that have a ketone panel, which this one doesn't

I never bought strips before and just didn't buy the right product it seems. Next time I will know.

He had bloodwork done mid-August and all was fine with his kidneys. The vet said to recheck in 6 months.

I am not familiar with the brand that you have, so I can't be sure how accurate the protein reading is. For basic home testing you would want the ketodiastix:

or a similar product. These read the glucose and ketones only. There are other strips with more panels on them that I use occasionally but they are much more expensive. The chemstrips have anywhere from 5 to 10 different panels but are not necessary for "everyday" use.

You don't need anything that extensive for normal testing. Those one give a number of panels...PH, SG , leukocytes , nitite, protein, glucose, ketones,blood...etc. For most people that is more information than they need and some of the test are not accurate for kitties. Just a basic one with glucose and ketones is all you need. A bottle of 100 runs around $10-$15 at most pharmacies. Walmart may have their own brand...I am not sure since I am in Canada.

ETA These are the ones you would need:

but you may be able to get them cheaper at Walmart in the US. You could post a separate question and see what other US members can offer for best pricing.
