Seeking advice on leaving a car alone overnight

This coming weekend I have to go away overnight. I will probably be away for about 24 hours. Before diabetes, I would have left my cat, Ziggy, with bowls of dry food and water and she would have been fine. I understand wet cat food is best, but how bad would it be if I left her with just dryand without insulin? I usually give her 1 unit of Lantus twice a day. She has been diabetic for almost a year, and my vet and I have never been able to completely regulate her BG levels. There is no one I can get to watch her while I am away. If I decide to leave dry food, is there one brand that is better than another? If I left wet food I am afraid she would eat it all at once. I am open to listening to any other suggestions or ideas someone may have. Thank you.

Your cat is in really high numbers. I wouldn't leave her with dry or skip shots. I would board her at the vet or ask if theres a pet sitter or vet tech that can help. I always board at the vet because they will check her bg before the shot.

Tip:

If you do find a way to board your kitty or find a sitter who's competent to give insulin and monitor, provide them with an old syringe (snap the needle off!) filled with coloured water drawn up to the 1 unit mark so that they've got a visual guide to compare with to make sure they give the correct dose.

Another thing to consider might be to instruct whoever's looking after your kitty to give a slightly lower dose (again, leaving them an old syringe with coloured water drawn up to the required dose).

If you really can't get anyone in willing to give the shot, and can't board her or take her with you, I would at least get a neighbor or friend to come in and give just wet food. I definitely wouldn't leave out dry kibble. Any chance you could take her with you?

I was confused by your title :
