Monster Too woke me up at 4am this morning and told me he needed to go to the vet. I thought he had a uti. He is 14.5 years old. Of all the cats I have had in my life he is the second with diabetes. Odd thing is that the cat he is named after, Monster the Original, had diabetes. That was 25 years ago and boy have things changed! Used to get insulin without a prescription and buy needles by the box cheap. I would have been happy if Monster Too had left that legacy alone but here we are.
I am so glad this forum is here. Monster Too is as well because he will benefit. I have already learned that I don't have to spend a bazillion dollars on special cat food. We brought home the Purina from the vet. I only bought 4 cans. We have been through food allergy trials with him and his hot spots. We know how to research food. That is how I found you.
Now I am excited to research test strips, urine strips, insulin types and so many other things I have forgotten or never knew. I was happy to see there is a spread sheet which I have to check out. I was going to make one.
Monster the Original would pee in a cup for me. He was easy. He wasn't picky and would lay there for his shot purring. I hope Monster Too is just as easy.
