Seafood Question

I've been seeing quite a bit about keeping seafood type foods as a once in a while thing and not part of the daily diet as it can contribute to UTIs. Poopy has had a horrid UTI experience in the past and the vet said we'd be looking at a penilectomy (not sure if I spelled that right - where they would shorten his urethra) if it happens again (I almost lost the bugger). I'm not sure Poopy would ever forgive me if I have his...um...manhood shortened, and I understand the results have questionable consequences (leakage, etc.).

My question is this, almost every can of cat food low in carbs I can find in my area has fish as an ingredient (usually 5th or 6th - even the Sophisticat I just picked up from PetSmart). Should I be concerned about this or only if seafood is one of the main ingredients?

I believe the concern is for seafood as a primary ingredient.

For the K/D - here is a post in Feline Health which has links to all the CRF info you could ever want, including foods low in phosphorus (and thus usually lower in other minerals too) which may be used in lieu of the much more costly prescription foods.
