Screwed up....fur shot! Help!

I screwed up at PMPS, was running late , got nervous and did a fur shot! :banghead: RATS, RATS, RATS! His BG was 368, so I really wanted to make that shot! So, any advice (anyone) on what to do now? I was thinking about waiting 20 mins...do a test and see if any got in? I so don't want to miss giving him a shot tonight. I can stay up pretty late, so can shoot and check on him till a +4. Screws up my AMPS timing too,so guess in the morning I test and shoot when I get a shootable number ???? Any advice is much appreciated!
 
I know it is hard to think about skipping, but it's the maxim: better too high for a day than too low for a minute. You can't be sure how much, if any, went in and adding more insulin is just not a good idea.

Tomorrow is another day; you'll get him back.
 
Sue's right (as always). Don't give more insulin. We've ALL done fur shots and been so mad at ourselves, but it is much much safer to skip and start again tomorrow. Don't worry...he will be fine.
 
There are times I knew for sure that I gave a fur shot and yet his numbers still went down so I must have gotten some in. I would still put in your SS what units you were going to give and test later tonight just to see.
 
Ok, breathing again.....thanks ladies, I will take your advice and wait till morning. So friggin mad at myself! I am scared of really low numbers the most (anything nearing 50) for obvious reasons, but the high numbers freak me out too! Better safe than sorry for sure. Thanks so much (again).
