Starting Lantus again after a year in remission. Praying I will do everything right and not make any mistakes!
I’m getting ready to feed, then shoot.
I have a box of test strips coming tomorrow from Amazon, but I just looked and saw I only have 10 strips left. :nailbiting: It being Labor Day and all, I’m not sure how often to test, so I don’t run out of strips.
Any suggestions?

In order to conserve strips, would it be possible to test at +2, +4, PMPT, and before going to bed, in order to conserve strips?
I’m just not sure I can find Alpha Trak 2 strips on Labor Day

Sorry Scout has to be back on insulin. As long as you don't catch a low number on one of those test that should be okay to do fewer test. You may want to try +3 and +6 instead of +2 and +4.

Thanks Carla! I’ll do +3 and +6. I dropped a bunch of test strips in the sink :nailbiting:, so when I counted this morning after the AMPS, I panicked when I saw 10 left. I have a package coming tomorrow from Amazon, but it being Labor Day, not many places where I’d buy them are open.
Thank you SOOO much for replying.
Paula-his numbers started going up to 300’s and 400’s after starting Budesonide.

So sorry to see Scout is back on the juice....Any chance you'd want to get an inexpensive human meter/strips at Walmart today, just to have some kind of 'insurance' in the house?

I always keep another meter/strips in the back up drawer - figure it's better than ever having a problem meter, dead batteries, strip issues, etc Just a thought.

I’m not confident or comfortable going to another meter, yet. The vet office said they’ll give me 4 or 5 strips, so I’ll pick those up now, hopefully 14 will see me through to tomorrow if I’m careful.
