I can’t give advice regarding dosing, but 100% know how you’re feeling right now. Things will get better. People here will help you!
 
It's hard to know what a good dose is without testing. Really you are just guessing. The recommended starting dose is 1 unit twice a day. He's probably drinking less water because he's getting more water from food.
