I'm glad to hear she's on amox.... You can usually see an improvement within 24 hoursShe is about the same. Her numbers are looking better, but she is not really acting better; probably because of the cold. She was 273 last night and gave her 2u. Her numbers were 224 this morning and gave her 2u.
Started 50mg amoxi twice a day for her congestion last night per doctor. She did a sneeze this morning when trying to syringe feed the RS. I think that is a good sign, she never did that before. Maybe the amoxi is doing something....
I want to thank whoever mentioned the Royal Canin RS food. It is the best to syringe and she doesn't seem to be spitting out too much now that I go in from the side of her mouth. She is still not getting as much as I would like, but it is a start. I hate to stress her out. She is still drinking some and peeing on her own.
Keep prayers coming PLEASE - she needs them.
It's a bit cheaper on amazonsomeone suggested l-lysine powder to add to the syringe food....know where i can get this? i found it on chewy but it is 11.95 and you have to pay 4.95 shipping.
I would try to get at least one 5.8 oz can per day into her.I want to thank whoever mentioned the Royal Canin RS food. See if she will take it off your fingersGave Patches her amoxi at 6pm….
I was just eating some garlic cheese bread. She smelled it and was standing up!!!!!
I was hopeful and gave her can of food and she smelled it again and i thought she was Ggoing to eat, but did not. BUT this is first time she has shown any interest in food. I wish she would have at least licked it, but..........baby steps.....
I am going to put the lysine in her syringe food. She is not eating anything, so that is my only choice. I know she is not getting as much food as she should be but she gets so stressed, we are doing it slowly so she at least gets something. I saw it had rice flour in it also...that is going to spike her numbers though, right????
You're doing a great job. Have you tried putting FortiFlora on the food?no, she wont.I am not one of her favorite people these days......i have the food in the fridge, so i warm it before putting into the syringe. I had her in the "burrito" hold today to try and keep more of it in her mouth without her fussing around so much.
I don't know anything about lysine.... Sorry. Have you Google it?No, but I was told to use L-Lysine powder, but couldn't find powder, so got 500mg capsules and i can open them up and pour out stuff - now how much do i give her?? She is not eating much, but...I was gonna sprinkle some in the food before I syringed it. It has rice flour in it so that is carbs though, right?

she seems worse congested and wheezy today. could the amoxi be doing this? i took her in bathroom today with hot water for the steam. she liked it at first but then she wanted to go.I'm glad to hear she's on amox.... You can usually see an improvement within 24 hours
Do you have a nebulizer at home? Maybe the congestion is breaking up. Can you set up a vaporizer or humidifier in the room?she seems worse congested and wheezy today. could the amoxi be doing this? i took her in bathroom today with hot water for the steam. she liked it at first but then she wanted to go.
Is he nose and our eyes dripping? Is she sneezing or ćoughing?
little nose and eye accumulation. little bit of sneezing, no coughingIs he nose and our eyes dripping? Is she sneezing or ćoughing?
Does the wheezing sound like it's from her nose or lungs? Like is it a stuffy nose or lung congestion? Is she drinking enough? Maybe saline drops in her nose could loosen some of the mucus?little nose and eye accumulation. little bit of sneezing, no coughing
Yes, I thought it was for herpes too.Maybe I am wrong but I thought L-Lysine was for herpes. I have a kitty who is FIV+ and on the Yahoo group FIV Health Science this is talked about often. Forgive me if I am wrong.
