Hi, everyone! My name is Natalie. I'm 31 years old (32 one month from today!) and I'm Doober's human. He's a 13 year old ginger who was just diagnosed with diabetes last December. We started on Lantus Monday. So far, so good! I had trouble getting his ear to bleed. Found out his right ear works better than his left. I'm learning this dance lol! I noticed he was drinking and peeing a lot, so I googled it and asked a cat group on fb. I knew it was diabetes, but I had no money to get him to the vet. I'm disabled. I have MS and am currently awaiting a decision from SSI. My parents didn't have the money to shell out with Christmas and all, so I dug around on the internet. I found Diabetic Cats in Need and shot them a message. They took care of everything! Vet visit, Lantus, syringes, everything! I don't know where we'd be without them! I know absolutely nothing about diabetes, so I need this forum! His caseworker, Chris, has been so amazing!

At his initial vet visit, Doober's sugar was 560! I took his blood the night before we started his new food and Lantus (Wednesday 1/3), and it was 277. That was just from cutting back on the dry food. It stayed around 240 the next couple readings, then BOOM 333 Friday night 1/5. I'm happy to report that this morning, Saturday 1/6 he was finally normal! 90! Yay Doober!
