Hi everyone. After much bouncing I basically had to restart Sammy's prozinc dose from .25. He's up to a good .5 now and without doing a complete curve I cannot determine much drop of more than 30 BG numbers. Could anyone have a quick gander at his SS? I've done all times of testing without every 2 hours and he is consistently back over 300 in the mornings and evenings. Thank you all for help!

Hi Paula
I don't know why you went back to restart insulin or who told you to. It rarely works and just puts the cat back in higher numbers and risks glucose toxicity and ketones.
To stop bouncing you have to let the cat get used to the lower numbers again and the only way to do that is to keep letting them experience the lower numbers.
I would also encourage you to get at least one test in every pm cycle as you don't know what is happening there.
I am not a prozinc user so will tag @Suzanne & Darcy

Thank you! I dropped down but he was still too low I guess as his numbers were higher in the am? I know 4U was too much but I was sick and didn't realize he was getting too much. I wonder if I should switch him to Lantus? These and many other questions.

Yes the 4 units was too much.
The AMPS is always the last BG to drop lower. He could be dropping lower over night and then bouncing in the morning. That is why overnight tests are so important.
He looks as if he was doing quite well on a dose between 0.5 and 1 unit. However I would rather a prozinc user help you with dosing.
As far as swapping over to lantus... It is a very good insulin and we do have a lot more people using it and who could help you.
At the moment we only have a few who can help with prozinc dosing. So that would be up to you and the vet.
Ask as many questions as you like...we are happy to help.
