Hi gang! just a quick check in here from my hotel room in Mexico. I just wanted to give you what I hope is a bit of hope. Now that we are well past a year after Sammy's diagnosis, and 6 months from her going off the juice, I have to say it is sure great to know you kitty is probably just fine without you watching her every minute. hang in there... you WILL get to that point.
Someone asked on a thread tonight about going away... what to do. Yes, with a diabetic, this is an issue that has more issues, however, there are resources in your life, or community, that can help. You might get surprised. My son, Brian, who some have met on here, takes over for me when I am away, and he is awesome. I laughed yesterday, he sent me a message that he took my meter, strips and lancets to his house to test his cats, "just in case". We are now more tuned in to ALL the cats in our life, thanks to Miss Samantha who taught us so much.
It also helps that I have a webcam trained on the cats plate and can see if they are being well cared for! lol. its fun, actually.
