Good Morning - it has been almost 2 weeks since Sammy's last dose of insulin and over the weekend, we had a Fructosamine test done at the vet's office. I have been doing daily testing but think his average is high - the test result came back 259 which means good regulation, but since his numbers haven't been higher than 123 for the last week, is this number right? He has been pretty steady in the 80's and I wonder if the stress from Saturday's appointment had it read higher? We waited over an hour before finally being seen by the vet at which point, Sammy was pretty done waiting - he is a very tolerant kitty, but that was pushing it. He also received an antibiotic shot and a vaccine - could this be why his number is high? Should the fructosamine number be considered for anything or mainly the daily tests? He was a little high this morning since he got into the kibble overnight - still tolerable, but I'd like him a little lower, ideally under 100.
