Said Goodbye to my Civie Keegan today

Today I made the heart wrenching decision to have my 17yr. old civie, Keegan put to sleep.
I have watched him over the past few months decline and wither away to nothing but fur and bones.
I didn't want him to suffer by starving to death.
I looked at him this morning and just new it was time.
I gave my boys the opportunity to say goodbye.
It was sad.
He died, peacefully in my hands while I kissed him goodbye and thanked him for 17 wonderful years.
I will miss him, he was our first family pet.

Oh Lauri! I'm so sorry it was Keegans' time to go. Even 17 wonderful years does not sound like enough.

I hope you gave him a final bath of loving tears and that snot halo to send him on to the rainbow bridge.

The decision to let one of our beloved pets go is always heart wrenching. Sounds like it was time and you did the right thing.

In time, I hope you can remember some of the good times with Keegan and keep those memories close to your heart. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time in your life.
