Safest way to treat for fleas?

I just found a flea on Celle. I really hate to use Frontline/Advantage/etc. on her because she so clearly hates it. My other cats don't seem to notice it much, but she definitely does. Other than freaking out for about a half hour after application she has otherwise seemed fine. However, I haven't done it since she's been diabetic. Does being a fairly poorly controlled diabetic mean I should treat the fleas in any special way?

Also, are the fleas likely affecting her BG?

I use Revolution on my cats and Advantage II on the dogs....it doesn't seem to affect KT's bg. It makes sense that if a cat is allergic to flea bites that the annoyance would cause enough stress to raise it. I've used Frontline and Advantage on KT also without any bg affects.

GOOD LUCK! We just lived thru our second round of the year already - YUCK!

As first step, a flea comb and a dish of water with flea bath soap in it, may be used to comb out and kill the fleas. Comb, then dip or flick fleas into dish; repeat ad nauseum.
