I just want to post and thank everyone that has helped me with trying to navigate my way through Geesh's diabetes. Unfortunately I went out of town last week and he passed the morning after I left. Sucks :( He lived a nice, long life (18-20 years!) and I'm thankful I was able to have his company for the past three years.

Anyway, if it's allowed, I'd like to try and help someone else out. I have the Relion micro meter, some lancets left, the poker thing (I have no idea what this is called), and almost a full bottle of the 50 count test strips. I'd be more than happy to mail this out to someone with a kitty in need. I spent whatever was necessary but I understand it can be financially hard sometimes. I also have the AlphaTrak 2 meter as well.

Or does anyone know any place I can donate and make sure it gets put to use?

Thanks again <3

I have no idea what this is called),

it's called a "lancet device"

So sorry for your loss.....I wonder if he waited for you to leave to pass....a lot of cats will do that.

Fly free sweet Geesh and land softly...there are many friends at the bridge to welcome you and keep you company until the one you love most comes to be with you forever cat_wings>o

You might want to post in the Supply Closet

If nobody there needs them, you could send them to DCIN (Diabetic Cats In Need)...we help low income caregivers who couldn't otherwise afford to treat their kitties.

I am so sorry for your loss. It's nice of you to offer Geesh's supplies to someone in need, a very nice tribute to Geesh. I hope all your wonderful memories of the time you spent with him will help heal your heart.

I'm so sorry to hear you've lost such a special friend--thank you for thinking of how to help others even while you are going through something so difficult.

So sorry about Geesh. I recently lost my Tasha and donated her insulin, test supplies, syringes, a bunch of other items to a local shelter. I checked with them first and they were happt to take them. It felt good to know her supplies would help other kitties.
