I have a friend whose cat has developed some paralysis in his back legs. It is not diabetic neuropathy and the vet has determined this is a condition that has been slowly developing. He does have feeling in his back legs, they just don't work to support him. She is seeing a neurologist this week to find out more and if this can be treated.

Other than the paralysis, her cat is eating, peeing and pooping normally. The vet said he is not in any pain.

Since many of us have dealt with a variety of health issues with our cats, do you know of any online support groups that she can reach out to? If needed, she is looking into the pet wheelchair for him to help him regain some mobility. I am looking for groups that can give her other suggestions to help him have a good quality of life.

I'm sorry I don't know of any groups to refer your friend too. Just the name of a company located near me that makes wheelchairs and scooters for pets. A number of years ago I did several visits at a acupuncture vet clinic where the clinic cat was in a wheelchair. Apparently he had been in it for years, happily greeting all the clients.

I am so sorry to hear that, I hope he went peacefully and without pain. I am shedding a few tears at the loss right now even though I never knew this kitty, for some reason it hit me right in the feels.

Thank you. She had Antonio on pain meds though he did not exhibit any signs of pain. However his mobility significantly decreased during the week. The cancer was in the spine and it seemed to be progressing rapidly. She decided to let him go so he would not suffer. He was so sweet. This was so unexpected. She has an older cat that is 18 with multiple health issues and has used 15 of his 9 lives. He was the one she expected to lose first.
