{{{Ella and Edward}}}

I hope this finds you adjusting to your new "normal". I recall how I would still glance at the clock at odd moments, calculating the next shot or test time, and then remember.... As nice as it was to be freed of the schedule, I'd go back to it in a second to have either of my sugar babies here with me, and I know you feel the same. Enjoy this new freedom - you've certainly earned it - and know that Rusty continues to watch over you and love you and be grateful for the many good years you gave to him.

I so agree with you about what makes L&L Land so special - not just focussed on FD, but on the whole cat AND the community. FD invades every part of your life, and we are able to share all of that here with others that "get it". This is a family, for sure.

We do hope you will visit here when you are able. Love hearing of your adventures.

The full moon will surely look a little different to us now, but it will always bring thoughts of our Rusty. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

(((Ella))) I'm so sad to hear that Rusty had to leave you. When I remember our early years in LL, you and Rusty played such an essential part. From the fabulous parties, to the fun bus, to sharing niptinis and sending in the KSSS crew . . . Rusty was always there. I remember you helping me steer Punkin's low numbers in those early days.

I've read through everyone's posts and am thinking it's all already been said. It's quite an adjustment to stop the daily routine of caring for a diabetic cat. It takes time to let go of that routine. I'm glad you're off at camp this week, having a different daily schedule while you adjust.

Sending you big hugs. Rusty was the last of the LLL kitties that was here when we joined. You and he have a special place in my heart.

Fly free dear Rusty, and land softly. We won't forget you.

Dear L&LL Friends, thank you so very much for your beautiful thoughts. They mean so much to Edward and me. We returned from our Canoe Outing week yesterday and we felt Rusty's presence in the house as soon as we walked in the door. I expect that we will soon be receiving his ashes, and he will join Alice and Stu on top of the piano. Soon, also, I will post some more favorite pictures of our boy.
I plan to keep up with the Board and will visit condos as often as I can. This is a very special place and you and your kitties are what make it so special. Carry on, and never forget that you can care for a feline diabetic and still have a life!

Much love your way.

It is so difficult for me to come here after losing my Jetta last year and I’m saddened to have popped in today and found this condo.

I’m so so sorry for your loss of Rusty. But, what a wonderful second chance at life you gave him. My thoughts are with you and Edward as you adjust to life’s new “normal”. ❤️

Rusty is home! :) We received his ashes today. They are in a beautiful, handcrafted wooden box and residing on the piano. Rusty occasionally jumped up onto the piano and "communed" with Stu and Alice, and now all three of our beloved kitties share a common space.

The Full Buck Moon is approaching (July 27th). Rusty will be celebrating it at The Bridge, and he will send a special message--and menu--to all of the L&LL kitties.

I'm so glad Rusty is home with his family, where he belongs. I felt a sense of completion when each of my babies came home. It didn't entirely fill that emptiness, but it helped. I hope you and Edward are taking advantage of that new freedom you have, albeit unwanted, and enjoying life. Rusty would certainly want that.

I'm glad you plan to continue to visit. You contribute so much to this community, Ella, and we would miss you if you left us. I don't come around as much as I used to, but I still feel the connection. It is truly a family.

Dear Ella and Edward, I'm so sorry it was time for Rusty to leave for the bridge, he was a special kitty and a LL legend. The Lagoon Meister will forever have a very special place in my heart.
You have been the most wonderful beans a kitty would wish for, and have been an inspiration to me and many others on the board, of that I'm sure. Look after yourselves in the days ahead, as I know you will be missing your handsome boy.

I'm glad he's now home, back with his buddies, on the piano, forever close to you, such an appropriate place for a musical kitty.
George will be looking out for him at the next full moon, who knows, perhaps they will sing an aria.

Lots of hugs, vines and peace for you both.:bighug::bighug::bighug:
