Hi gang! it's been a long time since we popped in for a visit, a busy year for us all. Rupert just wanted to say hi to his buddies and to let everyone know that he is still king of bouncy cats but that we are bouncing in a much lower range and have had a few weeks, here and there, where we've almost been regulated! Still bossy, still happy. Loving being on the Levemir. Here is a short vid I took this morning. He was very grumpy because, with the time change coming up, he's annoyed that he's been getting fed later and later this week! Sophie sniffed his paw so he gave her a swat! Bumley is in the background and the other two were waiting by their respective food bowls as well!

Horsies all doing well. Bug turned into an insanely mega superstar this year and is up for many major year end awards within his breed association (currently 8th overall in north america in the arabian standings!) and won a ton of things locally and regionally. Hubby still not riding much other than trail riding in the park on Squeak. I've had a bit of a health scare this summer, right after regionals... lots of tests, nothign found. so that's good I guess. Still waiting for final diagnosis but seems likely that I have become gulten intolerant, with the possibility of a stomach ulcer too! All dealable so no worries.

Hope everyone is well, just wanted to check in and see how you were all doing and wish all the sugar cats good health and happiness!

Here's Rupie!:

Hi Pip, good to hear from you! Thanks for the update. :-D :-D Rupert looks fabulous! Sorry about the bouncing, I'm glad the Lev helps. Congrats to Bug (did he have another name?)! Paws crossed for your final diagnosis. Those medical tests are no fun.
Liz

Great to hear from you, Pip! I'm glad to hear that Rupert is his feisty self. Congrats on your horse being a superstar. Please keep us posted on Rupert and how he's doing!!

Hey Liz! yes, Bug used to be Rojo... but Bug just suits him so much better (he's cute as a bug... or a little bugger... depending on the day!). I think Rupert is just a bouncy cat. I keep dropping the dose, only to have to bump it up again.....he seems to be happy with 2 and a 'smidge'... not 2.25, not 2.5 but 2 and a smidge.. so it's a tad tricky. But he seems very happy and healthy and not at all bothered by the swings. he hi hasn't had any of the major hi's in a long long time. seems to sit in the blues with a high yellow now and then. it's been nearly 2 years since he was diagnosed, I have vague hopes he might go OTJ but in all honesty I doubt it will happen. However, he seems none the worse for it and quite happy with the whole process and the fact that he gets fed on such a regular schedule (mostly - case in point this morning! the service in this hotel sucks sometimes!)....and he likes being king of the castle still. Comes down to the barn with us every night to check on his horses and make sure we find our way back up to the house, and hangs out with his buddy Oliver - they spent the summer snoozing under the apple trees and eyeballing the little birds. All is well in Rupie world so it seems. I have found the best cat/horse sitter ever and she gives him his shots when we have to away to compete, and I get text updates all the time. He loves her, as do all the other critters, so it's a huge worry off my mind. Allowed us to take Bug to several shows this year and end up with 5 regional championships in dressage and trail class and sport horse in hand, and capping his season off with overall high points for the province in training and first level dressage, and high points for his local open dressage club, and his arabian clubs. earned his 'Legion of Excellence' in record time (this is an award given out by the arabian horse association based on the number of points you earn at rated shows and has to include national and regional titles). Sadly no money comes with that! just some symbols after his name, so he got his Legion of Honour last year, then his legion of merit, supreme honor, supreme merit, and excellence this year.. he is officially Hermano Rojo+++// - silly isn't it!

Stu has been doing quite a bit of racing and is having fun messing about with his little sailboat. we had fantastic weather this summer and a gloriously long fall. Today is the first rain we've had in over a month! and of course it's typical west coast rain - TORRENTIAL, everything flooded, horses sulking in the barn.. but the kitties are most happy because it heralds the start of woodstove season! they are all snuggled in the den enjoying the start of winter!

Hi Pip,
How nice to hear from you and what a great "whole-family" report! Rupert looks wonderful and it sounds like you have found just the right dose and routine for him.
Very impressive about Bug's awards and successes :-D :-D
Enjoy winter and visit again before too long.

Hugs, scritches, and pats for the horses,

Ella & Rusty

Hi Pip,
Glad to hear a Rupert update.... I was just thinking the other day of how he might be doing.
Very nice to have a good caretaker and the freedom to do other things.

Very nice on the awards!

Hi Pip and good to hear from you here. Thanks for posting the Rupie video. Now we can see what you mean about him being bossy.

Neko's flattened a little on Lev too, but I'm still trying to figure out her cycles. It made no difference to her bouncing during the day and diving at night. I'm glad it's working so well for Rupert.

Hello! Happy to see such a nice update :-D
Congratulations on Bug's achievements, on Ruberts BGs, and on finding a great caretaker.
:YMHUG:

Hi Pip! It is nice to hear from you. Thanks for the update. And Go Rupert! Sounds like he is doing well. It is great too that although he is still king of the bouncies that they are in the lower range. Very good Rupert. Congrats on all, on Bug, and Rupert.

Did you ever get around to testing your cat for IAA?
The numbers look very much like other IAA ss.... FD cats don't bounce constantly but you can have dips like yours with IAA..... green to black? Something's going on.

hi Pip! i've wondered how you and Rupert have been! good to hear an update. congrats on all the horse successes!

we lost punkin in may. adopted 2 kittens in august and anya still has recovered from it. she's like rupert with the swat, only she adds hissing, growling and then an attack along with the swat. *sigh*

i'm glad your corner of the world is well!
