donnahc said:That's a decent number Misty. What are you thinking to shoot?
donnahc said:Yes food should raise the number. But I always base my dose decision on the number before you feed, so the 199. Then take into consideration how much they are eating. Appetite good or bad right now, etc.
4 days ago you got a 192 for amps then waited to shoot. She went up into the 400s and then you shot. But again, that number was a food spike.
You could wait a little then retest to make sure she is rising, then shoot? And I would say def no more than .25.
What do you think?
donnahc said:I would definitely shoot now Misty. Eating well and zooming up.
donnahc said:Yes, I know there is always some surprise with the kitties. We had poop on the bedroom carpet the other night and my guys have never gone outside of their box before. Dunno who did it, and what caused it. No symptoms afterwards from anyone. They keep you runnin' that's for sure.
Sorry, just saw your flea treatment Q. I have no idea since I have never used those products. My cats have never gone outside so I figure I can avoid one more chemical.
If no one here knows, I'd post on the Health Board here and it will get more eyes.
donnahc said:Now that you say you are outside at night, I have no idea! Work at plant nursery?

The advantage should be fine. I'm not aware of any problems related to flea meds and diabetics. Bob was on advantage when he was getting shots. He and Mullet are on Revolution currently. There's a great med called Capstar that kills adult fleas within minutes that you could ask the vet about.
BJM said:Because Prozinc doesn't have any carry over, you can look at what the pre-shot was, if it was a rising number, how much she has eaten, and how fast she has dropped on that rough level previously. In other words, don't get hung up on the specific time, focus on the relationship of those 4 factors.
Ex for right now, these guidelines might work (others please chime in!):
400s, rising, good appetite, its safe to shoot 0.50 units at a minimum. If home to monitor, you might go up to 0.75 units and start collecting data on that dose.
300s, rising, OK appetite, safe to shoot 0.5 units
300s, dropping, poor appetite, 0.25 units safe if you're leaving, 0.5 if you're home to monitor
200s, dropping, poor appetite, probably ought to skip for safety
200s, rising, good appetite, 0.25 units should be safe; maybe 0.5 units if home to monitor
BJM said:No carryover, remember? This morning's shot is wearing off.
0.25 should be fine
Also, if she is over 400, rising, & eating, 0.5 should be fine, too
