So this is what confuses me, Misty. I know food brings her up, but her pattern is that she dosn't go back down during the cycle. It seems like the insulin should kick in at some point, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. BUT i don't see upping the dose on a 116 preshot.

Is there any way you can alter the feeding during the day? Feed them smaller amounts 3X daily?

I also wonder about her still being hungry with low regulated numbers. Could she have thyroid issues?

Rumpelteazer really needs a decent vet check, which means doing a fund raiser to get the necessary testing or applying to DCIN for help with it. Plus finding a competent vet.

You are correct, Sue. Her nadir is always "up" anymore.

She already eats 3X a day. After AMPS + Lunch (after the usual +5 test) + after PMPS. She gets 1 can of Friskies for herself each time and then she 'vacuums' up whatever civvies don't finish.

The last time she was at the vet (February 2013) when she was diagnosed with FD, vet had checked for thyroid issues. Said "Not Hyper T4".

I will have to get her rechecked for thyroid I guess. Don't really want to go back to my current vet after the hypo dose issue. Will have to call around and see how much different vets charge for visit + test. I know someone who was working at one vet office near me...not sure if she still works there. Am waiting for her to get back to me to find out how they are with kitties in general and FD.

Years ago, I had a hyperthyroid kitty who just had to take one pill a day to control it. He and the rest of the gang all ate dry food which was out for them 24/7. Life was so less stressful with kitties being able to graze whenever they wanted to. Plus I didn't go through TONS of litter (thank you RumpelT) like I do now....my garbage guys must wonder what the he** is in these trash bags that is so heavy!!! :roll:

Question: If she does come back as being hyperthyroid, would I still have to treat (test/feed/shoot) her like she has FD also? It is okay if you can't answer that one. :smile:

Bottom line: I HAVE to get her checked for thyroid issues ASAP. :YMSIGH:

No test before work

AMPS = 116 @ 8:00AM

0.2 unit @ 8:30AM

180 @ 1:30PM (+5)

PMPS = 276 @ 7:40PM

Little Less Than 0.8 unit @ 8:30PM
