I think you need to start shopping for the U100 syringes with the half unit markings so you can start shooting smaller more accurate doses.

Be sure to get mid cycle tests in today.

I was hoping for some decent numbers- finally! Wonder if we can "assume" it takes Ruby a while to settle into a dose - like 4-5 cycles?

Me too.

At +8 she hit 116. We did have a laser pointer session with about 5 minutes of her running around the living room roughly 45 minutes before this test.
This is why I can't get a handle on her nadir...

At one point in my early 20s I decided I wanted to change my name to Ruby (a totally random idea that I didn't follow thru with). When I adopted Ru years later I was going thru some major changes in my life and was on my own again for the first time in a long time. So it made sense to me that she would be Ruby. A fresh start kind of thing.

Every time I see her name I start singing the Kenny Rogers song...

And I'm thinking "Ruby Tuesday"..... I just showed my age....a child of the 60's!

When I see her name I think of Ruby Slippers.
Best.Movie.EVER!

OK, she's following her "pattern". Up early, then the drop comes.

It looks like she hits her food spike about 2 hours after she eats and then begins her drop around +4.
The good news is that her water intake and output is pretty much back to normal. That's one less thing to be freaked out about.

I'll do one last test in about an hour before I have to call it a night and still be semi-productive tomorrow.

Hey, it's Monday....semi-productive is all the world has a right to expect!

The good news is that her water intake and output is pretty much back to normal. That's one less thing to be freaked out about.

Outward signs are extremely important. I think people here call it the "total cat picture". Sometimes it tells you more than the numbers on the spreadsheet. Water in and out is a very important "good sign". Like jumping up on the table for the first time in weeks, or playing with the toy that has been neglected forever.

Carl

She's been playing more than she has in ages, which I think is great. I don't even mind so much if she brings me a toy on me at 3:00 in the morning. Unless she's dunked in it the water bowl first. Then its just nasty. :-D

Then a good day for Ruby!

When looking at "colors", since she seems to always spike after the am and pm meal, I'd discount those readings. I mean, it isn't like there's anything you can do about them right? The food just gets there before the insulin does. Even a "normal" cat would spike a bit after eating until the pancreas says "knock it off!".
