? Roxy off her food

Hi everyone
Roxy is not eating today she slowly went down hil yesterday and this morning she is not interested which is very unlike her. Yesterday she vomited and it was foamy and I’ve read that can be pancreatitis? Otherwise she has been in good health recently, eating regularly and playing, grooming. We will take her to the vet today - dreading that as she is very anxious about leaving home and meeting strangers. and I can’t find a vet who will do a home visit on a Sunday. Any advice or possible explanations that are not awful? ☹️

She is being kept in overnight, they've put her on fluids but all test so far inconclusive, no ketones in urine, not especially high or low red / white blood platelets but possilblu slightly elevated inflammatory markers; normal temperature They did say how hard it is to diagnose pancreatitis... they will do ultrasound tomorrow and put her on a glucose monitor. :( So worried.

Yes, you can get a fPL snap which will tell you yes/no for pancreatitis. That test is done at the vets surgery and takes about 20 mins.
Or a fPL spec which has to be sent off site and takes a day to get the result and gives a number as to whether pancreatitis or not.
Ask them to do a fPL snap today

So Roxy is home and on antibiotics as it was a possibility she had an infection. Her behaviour is back to normal but her BS is really high and apart from one skydive a couple days ago after her morning dose of 1ml her numbers are just not going down - especially at night! She’s on a monitor so it’s really easy to check her all the time which is very useful I must say. Is this a possible reaction to the antibiotics? Vet thinks she could have been in remission as her numbers were so good. He’s super impressed with the chart I provided with her entire BS history for the past 12 months!

Is she eating okay? Which antibiotic is she on? Some of them can cause GI issues like diarrhea, vomiting and loss of appetite. Any kind of infection/inflammation can cause BGs to rise.

She is bouncing from the greens she saw the other day. Her numbers very definitely much better before the infection.

I have moved the 2022 data into a new sheet so that one doesn't have to scroll all the way down past 2021 to see it. Please use the World 2022 tab to input data? Thanks!

She is on amoxycillin. She is eating OK now, she didn't eat much at all for around 24 hours before she went into hospital. So this could just be a bounce from the other day? She hasn't really dropped much at all despite the full 1ml units a day.

So it looks like the bounce ended today and now am
Confused what dose to give her now. Am thinking half a dose - 0.5ml? She spent quite a good few hours today in the blue zone. Her appetite seems affected today and am worrying - but could it just be the antibiotics? Her poos are particularly horrible right now - very soft and smelly.

I’ve put it back up to 11 now. She’s off her antibiotics and there was an immediate improvement on her numbers the next day. I’m worrying now the dose might be too high, I’m going to have to do lots of testing now - her BG monitor has expired - I’m concerned she’s dropping very low at night as she has vomited 2/3 nights in a row now. Otherwise has had good appetite.

She is doing better on 1U than 0.5U but her numbers are still on the higher side. Hard to know how low she is going on the dose. You want to get at least one mid-cycle test every cycle so you can see where the dose is taking her and you can increase or decrease as needed.

I hope she is okay otherwise :-)
