rotating flea meds?

OK after Dallas' tape worm episode last week, I have considered rotating advantage multi with revolution. When you rotate the topical meds, do you

1) put one type on for one month, the 2nd type on the next month
OR
2) period of time on one type (ie 3 months) then 3 more months on the 2nd type

When I have rotated flea meds in the past I put one on one month and then when they are do from the next application I use the second one, since most only last 30 days.

Cedric goes in again on Monday and I wanted to get a dx for Revolution in Dallas' name so I can submit it to Fosters & Smith (since the other script is in Cedric's name). thanks for the tip.
