I had to do an in-home euthanasia on my boy this morning. His nasal cancer symptoms got so bad, he could barely breathe, and he lost so much blood in nosebleeds..the last couple of nights were really bad.

I know you guys didn't get to know him..he was diagnosed with diabetes because I brought him in for sneezing blood, and when they ran a blood test, they found out he was diabetic.

This cancer caused a lump on his head, which my vet then biopsied, and found fibrosarcoma. It then moved really fast to mess up his life. I did the best I could as a caretaker, and he still had some really good days and moments. But at the end, he was just suffering too much.

I haven't left my bed much all day. I feel lost without him.

I appreciate everyone's advice I got at various times on the forum. In all honesty, the cancer took precedent over the diabetes..the vet said he wouldn't live long enough to die from diabetes, anyway.

:(

:bighug::bighug::bighug: I'm so very sorry, I remember when you got his diagnosis and were going to try some kind of tea. So sad that he went so quickly, I can tell how much you love him. Thinking of you, I'll be online a while longer if you want to chat x

So so sorry. My heart and prayers go out to you. What a sweetie tabby and what a wonderful, loving kitty momma you are.

Thanks you all. Yeah I was gonna try Essiac tea...I did not get the herbs in time. He went downhill so fast :(

I am awfully sorry to hear the sad news about Whiskey. I know how much you love him and my heart goes out to you.

Isn't that so true..I only had a little over 2 years with him..so unfair :(

I am so sorry that it was Whiskey's time to go to the bridge. My heart is breaking for you. The greatest gift off love is also the hardest - you gave Whiskey back his youth and vigor, he is happy and healed and playing with all the other GA kitties at the Bridge, waiting for the day you will be reunited.

Fly free, sweet Whiskey, land softly cat_wings>o

I'm so sorry it was time for Whiskey to cross the bridge. My thoughts are with you in this sad time :bighug::bighug:

I am so so very sorry :( it sounds like he was in good hands . Rest peacefully sweet boy.

I wish I had something wise to say -- but all that I can come up with is that it is just not fair. Not fair that you had him for so short a time, not fair that he had cancer, not fair that he had to go so fast.

Yet he had you, and that was a blessing for him. And you had him, and what a blessing for you to have been picked as his mama and his angel.

Take comfort that some day, in your own time, your memories will make you smile rather than cry, and you'll realize that you wouldn't have traded this pain for anything in the world.

Best,
Sandi.

I'm so very sorry to see this. We know your heart is breaking and we all understand a million per cent what it's like. Please be gentle with yourself while you adjust to the shock of your huge loss. In time you will look back and not only cherish but smile at your memories of your precious boy.
Hugs
Diana

my sweet Jodi who was one of our family cats had the same thing, she was 14. She fought so hard, bless her. She will have been there to welcome Whiskey to Rainbow Bridge x

SHe had nasal cancer? OMG isn't it horrible??!!!! I mean, he really did have a very good quality of life up until the last couple of days. There would be tough periods, like when I'd have to try to calm his nosebleeds.

At the end, it was like the tumor was trying to choke him out--it took over his whole sinus on that one side and was attacking his eye. I know we ended it at the right time but it was so hard.

What you said was amazing, thank you. And yes it wasn't fair. In between bawling my eyes out, I feel angry. So angry at this cancer for making him suffer and taking him away from me too soon. So not fair, you're right. Hard for me to see beyond that but I know in time I will. {hugs}

I was just thinking a little bit ago..I have a bunch of insulin injection needles, a box of test strips, and two test meters. Plus half a bottle of insulin.

Are these things anyone here can use? The box of needles are 40s..brand new box. I just ordered them recently :(

You could post details in the Supply Closet. Here's the link:

If you don't get any takers here perhaps a local animal rescue might welcome them.
