For some reason Robbie doesn't like me to test on his left ear - really hates it- so I've been using the right ear mainly - poking the outside edge aiming NOT for the vein - tonight his right ear looked sore - his dad tested him twice today and is new at it so I put some ointment on that ear and poked the left ear but on the INSIDE edge like the RIGHT side of the ear as you are looking down at his head. and it bled a BIG droplet which I grabbed and it tested 475 which shocked me - he's been low 400's at AMPS +11 recenctly or high 300's but 475 was a shock. Just in case something was wrong I wiped off the right ear some and tried the spots I've been testing all along and it was 461 - not a huge difference but enough to make me wonder if there's something I don't know?

If you figure in the +/- 20% variance that all meters have those are still basically the same number.

475 - 20% = 380
461 +20% = 553

so those two numbers are in that overlap area that makes them virtually the same number.

Thank you - I pretty much figured that but just in case there was some oddity about inside/outside of ears that I'd missed thought I'd ask.
