What do remission numbers look like and how long do you have them before stopping insulin?
Despite Sky only having had insulin for a month or so the vet suggested she may be going into remission. Have only this week been able to persuade Sky that giving up her blood is a good thing (ham was a great persuader). Today she went to have blood taken for a fructose test ( I think it was!) and despite showing no signs whatsoever of being hypo her bloods suggested she was.
Consequently I'm reducing her dose, in agreement with the vet and doing a curve either on Sunday or Tuesday (not yet decided) and doing one more test tonight to see where her numbers have gone after her first reduced dose. I haven't a huge amount of faith in my vet with regards to her treatment so far so would like some advice - the vet wasn't overly thrilled that I had adjusted dosages on the earlier numbers so I'm not going to trust them where this is concerned!
