Remembering Gabby

I always find this to be a difficult time of year. My closest family is with our four legged family at the Bridge. Several of you here may remember when my sister lost her battle with cancer. Many more of you may remember when Gabby crossed the Bridge -- today is the 3-year anniversary of that loss. She is still well loved and dearly missed.

This year has been a bit more challenging since I needed an emergency hip surgery due to an infection in one of my already replaced hip joints. That was Thanksgiving. (And adding insult to surgery, there was no turkey for dinner at the hospital!!!)

The good news is that my recovery has been speedy. I also have a much deeper appreciation for friends and colleagues who, without reservation, were more than willing to lend a helping hand. And, of course, there's Gizmo who may be the worlds silliest and sweetest cat imaginable. I have a lot to be grateful for.

For those of you who did not have the opportunity to get to know Gabby, the diving diva, this is Gabby's Legacy. Her tribute video by CD is at the beginning of the condo and my tribute, her legacy is in post #7.

While Christmas is a wonderful time of the year for many, it can be a struggle to get through for others as they remember beloved family who have passed.
I’m sorry you have had to have another operation on your hip. I’m glad you have wonderful friends to support you.
Thanks for sharing Gabby’s legacy with us.
Our kitties are so precious to us all.
I hope you find peace this Christmas

Those anniversaries can be so difficult with missing them. I miss your sweet Gabby. The video and photos are so beautiful. I always enjoyed hearing the stories of Gizmo and Gabby. So sorry to hear of the challenges this year with the emergency hip surgery, but glad the recovery has been speedy. Thank goodness for good friends.
Lots of vines and hugs coming your way. Scritches to silly Gizmo.:bighug::bighug:

Yes, Holidays can sure be tough for a lot of us who miss loved ones . Sending you lots of vines of comfort to continue to find all that is right in your world. And for a continued healing process for your hip. :bighug:

I always find this to be a difficult time of year.
I agree. My family has either passed or moved away. My younger son moved to Texas 2 yrs ago. I miss him & my only 2 grandsons terribly.( my 4 yr old grandson told me, "grandma,we're forgetting all about you cause we don't see you anymore" still crying over that! )
I used to cook & have 20 people here every Christmas Eve.Now I'm alone.
Except I do have my 3 kitties for companionship & of course "unconditional LOVE!":D:cat::cat::cat:

I hope you have a Wonderful Christmas! Sending good Happy thoughts :):bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sienne,

Wishing you an easy recovery, and Happy Holidays! It can be such a hard time of year, especially with difficult anniversaries. I hope that extra cuddles and scritches for Gizmo will bring you joy.

You are well loved here!! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Absolutely remembering Gabby. Such a special girl and close to everyone’s heart.

Sometimes I wonder if there was some fate that we lost our girls so close together and then Neko one year later. The heartbreak never heals. But I hope the love here for you and Gabby will bring peace.

Dear Sienne, Watching Gabby's video again brought back so many memories of your beautiful girl.
I'm glad that you are recovering nicely from your hip surgery and re-surgery. I hope that 2019 will be a fine year for you and Gizmo. And I know that Gabby is still making her presence known in spirit.
Hugs to you and scritches for the big guy,

Thank you for sharing the post with Gabby's legacy. What a beautiful video of a beautiful girl! She had such striking markings, yet she had those pitch black spots. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it! Sending you vines of love and comfort during this time. I hope your recovery continues to be speedy! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
