We currently use the Relion Confirm, but I was reading about how much cheaper the strips are for the Prime. I was ready to send Doug to Walmart tomorrow to pick one up, when I read s-e-v-e-r-a-l bad reviews...comparisons of readings compared to the other Relion models, but mostly the high rate of errors from the strips. I'm hoping to find people here who can give me first-hand knowledge, maybe even compared to other Relions?

A savings of ~$.10/strip is a pretty big deal, but only if the meter is reliable and strips good.

THANK YOU!

Libby (& Hershey, too!)

I've been using the Relion Prime for a few months now. I haven't had a problem with it. I did a comparison with the Confirm and the Prime and there was only a 5 point difference.

I'm so glad you asked that question, as I've been having the same thoughts. At my Walmart, I'm pretty sure Prime strips are half the price of the Confirm strips. I had originally budgeted to BG test three times a day, but I've been blowing through strips like crazy lately and I need to find a way to contain that cost, and that was what I was toying with.

Glad to hear of at least one person who likes it!

I have been using the Prime for a few months now. I haven't had any trouble with the meter or the strips giving errors. The cost is about $9 for 50 strips and you can get them online. No complaints here! If it makes a difference to you, it doesn't beep when it's ready.

We use the Arkray Vital, which I believe is the same thing as the Relion Prime. The only time we have errors is if Trix flinches before we get a full drop of blood on the strip. The numbers have been consistent and reliable for us. We order the strips through ADW.
